Golnar Fotouhi

I am Golnar Fotouhi, a doctoral candidate in the Research and Evaluation in Education program at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. My research focuses on advancing equitable access to quality education for multilingual learners, with an emphasis on teacher preparation, culturally and linguistically responsive pedagogy, teacher beliefs, and the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in education. I am particularly interested in how AI can be leveraged to support teachers in meeting the needs of linguistically diverse students.
Currently, I serve as the Instructor of Record for Teaching Emergent Bilingual Students at UMass Lowell, a graduate-level course that fulfills Massachusetts' Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) endorsement requirement. In this role, I guide future educators in developing the knowledge and skills necessary to support multilingual learners in their classrooms.
Through my teaching, research, and professional service, I am committed to preparing educators and building systems that foster more inclusive, equitable, and innovative learning environments.
